Over 1,400 firms take part in dental exhibition in Dubai

Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.
Professor Abdulla Al-Shammary, Global Scientific Dental Alliance rector of Riyadh Colleges of Dentistry & Pharmacy and scientific consultant of the executive board of Council for the Health Ministers of the GCC States, Saudi Arabia and a number of top professionals who work in the field of dentistry are attending the three-day event.
In addition to top officials from the GCC region, international officials, representatives from 70 countries, and more than 1,400 companies are participating in the event.
After the opening, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid toured the exhibition area, and explored the latest medical devices, technologies and equipment displayed by specialized companies from around the world.
Essa Al-Maidoor, director general of Dubai Health Authority, said this was one of the largest and most specialized conferences in dental technology at the local and international level due to its attraction of major international companies that come to AEEDC to display their latest products and share their scientific achievements in the medical field.
“The event has become an essential platform for dentists, technicians, and manufacturers from all over the world,” said Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Madani, executive chairman of AEEDC Dubai and Global Scientific Dental Alliance.
The event features a number of intensive scientific activities, which include the GCC preventive dentistry conference, AEEDC advanced specialty courses, 17 specialized courses and workshops, poster and oral poster presentations, AEEDC student competition with the participation of 6 universities, the global scientific dental alliance meeting, and the AEEDC Dubai awards.
“Every year, the team of AEEDC Dubai does its best to achieve scientific developments in the field of dentistry, and this had been made clear in this edition of the UAE International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition,” said Tariq Al-Khoury, honorary chairman of AEEDC.
The Global Scientific Dental Alliance meeting will take place with the participation of 22 Arab countries from the Arab Dental Federation to discuss the latest techniques and the most important topics that relate to oral health. The conference program will include more than 110 lectures delivered by 96 speakers to cover various topics that include the diagnosis and treatment of oral cancer, updates in surgical techniques, anesthesia for special care dentistry, and several other topics.
This year, the event features 19 national pavilions primarily from Brazil, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, Korea, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, the United States, the UK and the UAE.
